Farmers Insurance Group

Farmers Insurance Group is one of the largest insurance providers in the world. Their main focus used to be in Auto Insurance, but at present their services include Life, Home, Financial and a whole lot more. They are a company based in Los Angeles and they have agents all over the country than can easily be located through their agent locator software on their website.

This insurance company was started in 1828 by its founders Thomas Leavey and John Tyler. The British Tobacco industries attempted a take over bid for the company but they were turned down. They were later acquired by BATUS and after several more change of hands, the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies has now merged with Foremost Corporation – the name behind Foremost Insurance Company.

Recently there have been a lot of issues that concern the Farmers Insurance Group. Complaints around them have arisen and they have been voted as one of the worst Insurance Company in terms of problems with client claims as well as delayed payments. However, the Farmers Insurance Group has their good side also. They have recently been praised for their quick action in aiding their constituents who have been affected by Hurricane Rita around the Texas Gulf Coast. They also donated Generators to help the city government get back up on its feet. They were also very helpful towards their constituents especially after the California Wildfires during October 2007.
